Food Story takes 10,000 sq. ft. at KRE-owned Journal Squared 2
Jersey City, N.J. – Brooklyn based Food Story Natural Markets moving across the Hudson to Journal Square after inking a nearly 10,000-square-foot lease with Kushner Real Estate Group, in a newly announced transaction by Grid.
In a news release, the brokerage firm said Food Story will occupy the first-floor retail space at the 72-story tower, Journal Squared 2., sitting on the Magnolia St entrance of the Journal Square Path Station. Grid’s Bobby Antonicello represented ownership, working alongside KRE’s Justin Gingeleskie.
Food Story is a neighborhood grocery store with three locations across Brooklyn and Queens. They carry a wide variety of organic products, from everyday household staples to additional high-quality items not offered at a traditional grocer. Food Story is committed to bringing their customers healthy premade meals, food to order, and your favorite snacks and spirits.
“Over the past few years, we have seen an influx of Brooklyn based retailers looking to open in the Jersey City market. Not only in Downtown but in all neighborhoods of Jersey City,” Antonicello said. He added that “In the past these retailers would say we want a second location in Hoboken, but now they are looking for multiple locations in Jersey City and expanding on their already popular concept at each location.”
Grid announced the deal earlier today, noting that the location will provide Food Story with direct foot traffic from The Journal Square Transportation Center. 1700+ residential units within the Journal Squared 3-tower development.
